Route Release Schedule and Trading Best Practice

Route was set up in 2013 to align, design and operate a single audience measurement system for the UK OOH industry. Route is a Joint Industry Currency (JIC). As a JIC, Route provides audience numbers and trading metrics for GB OOH. 

Route is owned and developed by advertisers, agencies and media owners that work in concert to deliver one, credible and objective trading currency for OOH. Other examples of JICs are ABC, BARB, JICPOPS, JICREG, JICWEBS, PAMCO and RAJAR.

Route publishes new trading data each quarter. As an advisory, OOH industry groups (IPA, IPAO, ISBA and Outsmart) recommends that trading with the latest published release commences on the second Monday after the Route publication date. This gives buyers and sellers approximately two weeks to:

  • Update their trading systems.

  • Update their marketing materials.

  • Align between Buyers and Sellers which release is pertinent to a commercial agreement.
